Problem:

Office won’t activate regardless recognizing the key when using input;

Key is genuine and works on other computers

This usually will happen with hp/dell  new brand laptops

possible Cause:

you have got a pre-installed office key on your computer

Solution:

1.Uninstall all Office Apps ( This will solve other problems as Signature not working or dodgy office behavior

2.Uninstall pre-office installed key following this procedure:

3.From an elevated cmd prompt, find your office program files folder depending installation to run ospp.vbs 

cd c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16 – for 32-bit
cd c:\Program Files \Microsoft Office\Office16 – for 32-bit

4. Run the following command :

 

  • cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

The script will show you all linked licenses

5.Unpair License

cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:XXXXX – Where X’s are the last 5 digits of the key

6.Re-activate license if needed
